Westlaw Round Table Group's (WRTG) mission is to help litigators ensure that they engage the best and most qualified expert witnesses for all of their cases.
We are presently seeking a business development executive who possesses a unique combination of litigation and business development experience to help us achieve our objective: that every litigator in the region will call Westlaw Round Table Group for expert witness search and referral assistance. The Business Development Executive's roles include: reaching out to litigators via telephone and e-mail, meeting one one-on-one with litigators to demonstrate our service, and meticulously following-up with all clients and prospects.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Ensure each business development process milestone is achieved, with an emphasis on customer demonstrations, case opportunity identification and account/customer development.
  • Client prospecting and relationship development within assigned territory
  • Ensure a sufficient quantity of high quality, high propensity case leads requiring expert witness services
  • Ensure a sufficient quantity/quality of new potential expert witness RFP's
  • In conjunction with the Westlaw Round Table Group Case Managers and Expert Witness Recruiters, own overall territory revenue responsibility
  • Perform audience and firm-specific group demonstrations based upon account strategy and champion input

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience
  • 4-year degree required (business, marketing, sales or similar)
  • JD very strongly preferred (with 5-7 years litigation experience preferred)
  • 5-7 years legal industry business development experience required
  • Team selling environment experience strongly preferred
Knowledge and Skills
  • Demonstrated business development skills
  • Knowledge of competitive landscape preferred
  • Legal or litigation related knowledge required
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent written communication skills required
  • Detail oriented with a proven track record of diligent follow-up ability
  • Skilled negotiator
  • Ability to effectively team with broader sales team required
  • Understanding and practical experience with complex solution selling theory
Logistics
  • This is a field based role with up to 50% travel. Candidate selected would most likely work from home.
