| Duties: | Provide on-site space situational awareness (SSA) support and executive counsel to the Director of Intelligence of the Joint Functional Component Command for Space (JFCC-Space/J2) and other JSpOC (Joint Space Operations Center) functions at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California. Represent Project West Wing (PWW) and provide liaison to meet operational SSA and intelligence support requirements. Responsively assess the potential impact of current worldwide space, counterspace and missile activities and events on U.S. national security space operations and rapidly develop new approaches for addressing these challenges. Train the JSpOC staff on space and missile intelligence and SSA topics. Prepare technical reports and briefings as required. Effectively coordinate and use PWW and corporate technical staff expertise as required to meet customer requirements. Identify new areas of SSA concern and proactively address those concerns including recommendations for further data collection and research. Some travel required for coordination with PWW staff in Los Angeles and Dayton, Ohio as well as various U.S. Government agencies. |
| Qualifications: |
Bachelors degree in science, engineering or applicable military/international studies required with at least twelve years of applicable experience; advanced degrees desirable. Requires a strong interest in and understanding of global space activities and operations. Prior experience in the intelligence or operational space communities highly desirable, as is a background in operational SSA. Must have a proven ability to analyze a wide variety of data types and synthesize, fuse, draw conclusions and extrapolate from the available information to responsively answer both specific and general SSA questions. Must be an exceptional self-starter with demonstrated personal initiative and capable of superior performance with minimal supervision. Requires demonstrated superior written and oral communication skills and an ability to work with other analysts and senior military customers in a demanding, high ops temp team environment. Must have a Top Secret clearance and SCI access. |
