SEMCO - Operations Technician II
The Operations Technician II, under direct supervision, supports the Operations Department with a variety of field duties relating to the installation, operation and maintenance of gas service lines / pipelines / gas regulator stations/ meter and storage fields within the assigned geographic area.

Tasks and Responsibilities
* Key Stakeholder in Eastern PT&S programs such as vegetation management, right of way clearing, station deficiencies, equipment upgrades, transmission valve, and in house training programs.
* Assist with project planning and inspection, working with various departments to ensure material, scheduling, planning, and execution deadlines are followed and met.
* Meets with and coordinates with third party contractors and inspectors to ensure plans, policies, and procedures are being followed.
* Key stakeholder in operation planning with engineering and district leadership.
* Coordination of 3rd Party Pipeline Crossings, Damage Prevention, and Contractor Intervention Requests.
* Assist in other Operational Areas when required. Including, but not limited to, Distribution, PT&S and Service-related activities.
* Reviews documentation related to essential functions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Support required MPSC Inspections as needed.
* Handles customer and contractor inquiries, complaints and problems with courtesy and professionalism.

* Attends all regular and special meetings and training events as required by the department.

* Open, update, and close job orders as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
* High School Diploma/GED or successful completion of the General Educational Development Test required.

* Associates Degree/Bachelor's Degree preferred.
* 2 Years electrical and/or gas distribution experience. preferred
* Preferred experience and knowledge in construction, regulation, storage field and compression operations, instrumentation, and project planning.

* Successful completion of Operator Qualification

Skill Requirements

*Knowledge of gas operations and/or electrical operations.

*Good analytical and organizational skills, working with various departments to accomplish goals.

*Good written and oral communication skills.

*Good customer service orientation.

Good working knowledge of various personal computer business software applications presently used by the Company. Ability to learn new systems or software packages as necessary.

In addition to our standard benefits package, the estimated base hourly rate for this role will range from $30.53/hour - $37.23/hour, depending upon experience.
