As a Continuous Improvement Manager, you will support the Branch by developing, executing, and facilitating an enterprise wide lean management system for the SE region. The Continuous Improvement Manager will collaborate with all key stakeholders to lead and facilitate events and document progress to lean goals. You will develop and track key metrics regarding specific LEAN activities.These activities include but are not limited to the following: Kaizen events, STD work development, A3, and Value stream mapping.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)

While performing the supervisory responsibilities the employee must represent the Company in the utmost professional manner and in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable laws; especially when addressing complaints, resolving problems, and all other supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees; planning, assigning, and directing work and performance management. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization. Develops and executes a 6-12 month lean transformation roadmap for the branch utilizing the right blend of RIE events, projects and just do it's (JDI) to drive improvements. (40%).

Develops and implements a lean management system and ensures that all elements such as standardized processes, problem solving, and governance are in place to drive sustainable results. Coaches, mentors, and teaches continuous improvement methodologies. Respectfully challenges the status quo and encourages fellow employees to get better every day. (30 %)


Leads and facilitates activities utilizing various lean/continuous improvement tools, such as A3s/PDCA, process mapping, SMED, standard work, variation reduction, and kaizen events to drive business improvement and consistency. Coordinates with third party lean consultants where applicable. (20%)


Benchmarks internally and externally to identify and standardize best practices. Develops metrics and cost tracking mechanisms to quantify safety, quality, cost, and product delivery improvements. (10%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required Skills and Experience:
    • In-depth knowledge of Lean principles, tools and methodologies.
    • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated lean/Six Sigma application and training experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Minimum 3 years experience formal leadership experience including team member development.
    • Exceptional relationship-building skills: Leads by building relationships and trust at all levels of the organization. Demonstrates respect for people by creating the mindset that performing waste free work exudes the ultimate respect for fellow employees.
    • Process oriented thinker: Focuses on both the process and results. Believes the right process will bring the right results.
    • Effective facilitator of change who thinks innovatively and acts decisively, flexing and adapting positively to challenges.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or related field.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Technical: working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Simpson computer applications, such as SAP (or similar MRP software). Statistical, CAD, and OEE software.
  • Communication: Clearly exchanges thoughts, ideas, and messages through written, verbal, and non-verbal methods that promote an understanding with the target audience. Creates accurate, factual, and punctual reports, and shares information and ideas with others in a timely manner. Listens carefully and attentively. Make presentations that are engaging and effective.
  • Problem Solver: Is able to solve complex problems using various tools and get to the root cause. Utilizes facts and data analysis to drive preventative thinking into the application of countermeasures.
  • Accountability & Dependability:Meets commitments, works independently, accepts ownership of projects and outcomes, takes personal responsibility and sets objectives/standards, stays focused under pressure, meets attendance/punctuality requirements, and shows a sense of urgency about getting results.
  • Analysis/Reasoning:Ability to deal with problems with many variables in standardized and non-standardized situations. Ability to utilize statical tools and software to derive multiple solutions
  • Ability to Execute:Targets and achieves results, prioritizes and manages tasks effectively, maintains an organized system to monitor progress, overcomes obstacles, and accepts accountability. Have the experience and skills to challenge the status quo and facilitate change for the better through kaizen events, large-scale projects, mini-workshops, and daily JDI activities.
  • Innovation: Brings and fosters new ideas to challenge the status quo, pursue ongoing improvements, support changes for the better, and solve problems creatively as a team.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job will require 10% domestic travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This is a full-time, exempt position located in McKinney, TX.

RELOCATION

Relocation will be considered for this position.

Pay

$89000 - $151300 / year
