Position Details:

At Grainger, we focus on building technology solutions that are centered around the needs of our B2B customers. We are currently searching for a front-end developer who can help us create user-friendly designs using clean code and well-planned user experiences for our customers. The successful candidate will collaborate with our web team to identify customer requirements, come up with solutions, create website mockups, and prototypes. You will also be responsible for presenting their work to clients and optimizing live platforms.

The ideal candidate should not only know how to code but also understand why certain codes work.

You Will:

  • Partner with engineers, architects, & analysts to develop product design solutions (building applications)
  • Utilize specialized skills based on specific platforms or domains as required (primarily Frontend with Backend JS)
  • Implement and focus on CI/CD activities.
  • Support team activities (daily stand-ups, tech huddle topics, desk checks) and pairing with peers to work on stories.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to junior engineers as applicable.
  • Contribute to team culture and support of high-performing team.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Experience with specific technologies and languages especially front-end.
    • NextJS and React
    • NodeJS Application
    • Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker
    • Experience in monitoring tools like datadogs/Splunk
    • Experience in UI e2e automation using tools like WDIO and Java Script Unit test using Jest
    • Good to have experience working with monoRepo
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes.
  • Ability to design, develop, and deploy applications using proven technologies.
  • Consistently practice engineering sensible defaults on the team.
  • Ability to triage issues in production.
  • Knowledge of how systems fit into Grainger enterprise architecture.
  • Vendor certification or training is expected in cases of established experience or Cloud Certification preferred
