The Semel Institute is seeking to hire a full time Laboratory Assistant II. In this role you will be responsible for the following task:
- Assist the PI (Principal Investigator) in performing cryosectioning and immunohistochemisty.
- Assist PI in imaging fixed samples.
- Documenting experimental procedures and results.
- Carrying out routine laboratory caretaking tasks such as preparing solutions and washing glassware.
- other duties as needed.
Pay Range: $21.38 - $25.15 hourly.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Science is preferred.
- Knowledge of UCLA Environmental Health & Safety guidelines.
- Familiarity with standard immunohistochemistry methods is desirable.
- Familiarity with standard lab skills such as making solutions and using a pH meter is preferred.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well with multiple individuals at different skill levels.
- Ability to maintain an organized working area.
- Ability to keep accurate and organized records.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures for handling biohazard and chemical waste.
- Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software is preferred.
