THE ROLE
This Boston-based Relationship Director position will use all available resources to help grow sales and diversify and retain assets by covering assigned gatekeeper/professional buyer research teams.Coverage will primarily be Defined Contribution (DC) consultants but may include other wealth and advisory firms.This position will require travel approximately 30% of the time.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Directly support an existing group primarily comprised of DC consultant client relationships. Work to introduce new MFS solutions to this marketplace while maintaining, servicing, and supporting existing asset base and work to cross-sell and build a pipeline of new opportunities. Assigned clients and prospects may include both DC and non-DC oriented clients.Responsibilities include appropriate tiering and prioritizing of the client base for maximum visibility via in-person and virtual meetings.Serve as single point of contact for MFS with assigned clients and prospects while responding and anticipating their needs in a timely manner.
Maintain and foster strong working relationships with other areas of MFS, particularly the external DC Specialists and U.S. National Accounts team to ensure MFS is maximizing sales and service opportunities.Will also need to effectively partner with other areas of MFS as DC Strategists, Client Service, RFP team, Legal, Compliance, and Finance.
Fully participate in team meetings and share ideas and suggestions as to how to improve the overall effectiveness and productivity of the team.
Anticipates risks to the overall relationship of existing client base and take appropriate steps to proactively protect the assets at risk.Keep Senior Management apprised and actively get them involved when appropriate.
Fully utilize Salesforce as it relates to initiating and documenting all client activity. This would also include the utilization of all supplemental CRM technology to enhance client relationships.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree
8-12+ years investment related or financial experience
Successful sales track record with DC Consultants and/or BD and Independent home office research teams
Ability to navigate the DC and Wealth Management aspects of given firms
Demonstrated leadership skills
Demonstrated passion for developing and nurturing client relationships
Knowledge of domestic and foreign financial markets and products
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent virtual and in-person presentation skills
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
Demonstrate high level of integrity
Excellent territory management skills
Post-graduate education in a related area and/or CFA preferred
Experience in direct client-oriented capacity
Experience selling Fixed Income, QDIA solutions, CITs and Active ETFs
Position requires individuals to have FINRA Series 6, 63 and 7 registrations in accordance with MFS' licensing policy
