STATUS: NON-EXEMPT - Full Time

The Cook 1 works closely with staff in the kitchen and will work toward timely prepping and cooking of all food. This position will receive supervision from the Sous Chef as well as the Food Services Director.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Work Experience:
* HS Diploma or GED
* One year of cooking experience in a similar environment preferred
* Possession and retention of current California State Food Handlers Permit
* Ability to comply with Salvation Army child safety training
* Ability and willingness to understand and fully comply with mandatory reporting requirements and laws pertaining to vulnerable adults and children
* Willingness to abide by the Salvation Army's drug and alcohol policy

* Dependable work record in reporting to work on time and completing assigned responsibilities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
