Milliman's Milwaukee-based property and casualty practice is a leading expert in evaluating mortgage risk for government agencies, mortgage lenders, insurers, reinsurers, and investors. Our consulting work is supported by a powerful toolkit of data analytics solutions informed by years of in-depth work in the mortgage industry.

What You Will Do

Milliman M-PIRe is a comprehensive suite of software solutions that efficiently evaluates and manages mortgage opportunities, trends in the market, and portfolio aggregation. The Milwaukee-area software development team meets weekly in person at our office in Brookfield, WI to keep the team connected and on track to meet sprint goals.

As a Full-Stack Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based web applications across the entire stack, utilizing C#, Azure, and other web technologies. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of front-end MVC development, as well as experience deploying and managing applications in Azure.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define requirements for software solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance applications using C#/.NET stack.
  • Implement responsive and user-friendly front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and implementation.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage applications on Azure cloud platform.
  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations as necessary.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Contribute to the documentation of software architecture, design decisions, and implementation details.

What We Are Looking For

Professional Qualifications (required)

  • 2+ years of professional experience in web app and/or software development using C#/.NET stack, MVC Framework
  • Proficiency in front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
  • Experience consuming RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services such as Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, etc.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, design patterns, and principles

  • Familiarity with Fomantic UI
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with source control systems, preferably Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge of Entity Framework, PowerBI reports
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience

Location

The expected application deadline for this job is June 1, 2024. This role is based out of the Milliman office in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Candidates hired into this role must be willing to work onsite on a weekly basis, with flexible work arrangements.
