Job Description

SUMMARY

The Partner Coach provides coaching along with training and technical assistance to Center and Family Child Care Partners and ensures that Partners deliver comprehensive, high quality early childhood and education services that meets the Head Start Performance Standards to children in their care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports and promotes the mission of the Agency: Foothill Family empowers children and families to achieve success in relationships, school, and work through community-based services that advance growth and development.
  • Develops, plans, and implements one-on-one training/modeling/assisting on a variety of topics specifically needed by the EHS-CCP Child Care Partner. This includes assisting in applying the training material, role modeling of skills and building quality into the Provider's/Partner childcare program to meet the contract requirements.
  • Implements practice-based coaching strategies with the partner, including the use of reflective supervision.
  • Supports partners in the implementation of the culturally and linguistically appropriate curriculum and assists with maintaining curriculum fidelity, as well as individualizing lesson plans according to children's needs and goals.
  • Completes and/or stays informed of various learning environment assessment tools for partners, submitting assessments, interpreting results, and developing and implementing needed action plans.
  • Supports partners in the completion of the child assessments, developmental screenings and individualized child goals and lesson plans that support children's development and the program's School Readiness Goals. When partners are unable to complete the screenings, coach is responsible for doing so.
  • Works with partners to complete parent/partner/teacher conferences and home visits and assists them in developing relevant child goals.
  • Collaborates with other members of the CCP Comprehensive Services staff to ensure that the support provided to partners is consistent, well-coordinated, and effective in fulfilling program requirements, agency mission, risk management, and partner's professional development goals. This includes arranging, participating in, and hosting regular meetings that include staff and/or partners.
  • Works with partners to assure an environment that promotes strong parental engagement and involvement both in the child's learning and development.
  • Serves as the liaison for partners and supports them to navigate the EHS-CCP program and access all of the supports and resources available to them.
  • Participates in recruitment efforts to ensure a child wait list of eligible applicants and FCC Providers is maintained throughout the year.
  • Displays sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomics characteristics.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field.
  • Knowledge of Early Head Start and early childhood development for infants and toddlers.
  • Experience with developing, organizing, planning and conducting trainings on early childhood related topics relevant for child care providers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively and successfully interact with multi-lingual individuals and families from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Must be able to work some weekends or evenings as needed for Family Child Care Providers and Partner Trainings.
  • Bilingual Spanish, Mandarin or Cantonese Preferred.
  • Valid CA Driver's License and maintains insurability on the Agency's auto liability policy (including a minimum of 2 years driving experience) and maintains the California state required personal auto insurance liability limits.
