We have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic sales team as a Biomedical Territory Manager in the West Coast region. The successful candidate will have a proven background in building and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers and is passionate about providing solutions and systems for our customers.

The role of the Territory Manager is to promote the Avidity Science portfolio of products to existing and new Vivarium customers. The current Biomedical product portfolio consists of Edstrom Automated Watering Systems, Hydropac, BMDS, Watchdog EX and Preventative Maintenance Contracts. The territory for this role includes California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Hawaii. The ideal candidate will preferably be located in the territory. Qualified candidates from outside the territory will also be considered. This role consists of 40 - 50% travel within the territory along with other travel for industry-related meetings and tradeshows.

Avidity Science offers a competitive base salary of $100,000+ plus quarterly commission opportunity. Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Sell Avidity Science's portfolio of products/service to new customers.
  • Leverage relationships with Regional Project Managers and Avidity Science & ATS executives.
  • Drive revenue growth and close opportunities by matching Avidity Science solutions to customers' needs.
  • Identify opportunities to develop a total solution, not just product sales.
  • Manage sales cycles of varying lengths with customers through receipt of purchase order, training, and beyond.
  • Minimize competitive losses.
  • Strategically manage on-going relationships through account planning.
  • Develop, detailed territory plan including customer overview, business objectives, strategies, and competitive situation.
  • Maintain accurate customer data in CRM system, currently Salesforce.com.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of strategic, corporate and product messages.
  • Knowledge of standard manufacturing and business tools, including Microsoft Office 365, SalesForce.com
  • In-depth Biomedical/Vivarium industry knowledge preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of customer goals, objectives, strategies, and competitive situation.
  • Ability to build long-term strategic and Director-level relationships.
  • Ability to identify and improve upon sales processes.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments.
  • Ability to learn quickly and independently.
  • Ability to apply and articulate a customer value proposition for Avidity Science solutions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written business correspondence.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and facility drawings.
  • Ability to interface with customers and contractors.
  • Ability to read, understand the bidding process and related documents.
  • Ability to manage longer sales cycles.
  • Must have a strong organizational skill set for emails and documents.
  • Ability to translate technical product knowledge to both technical and non-technical customers.
  • Ability to develop, manage and measure business plans and strategies.
  • Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional level presentation skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in facilities where animal research is conducted.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in business or related field and preferably 5 years' experience in the Biomedical industry (vivarium facility management and/or progressive selling experience, or a combination of both).
