At Hartwell Corporation as a Manufacturing Engineer, where you'll spearhead initiatives aimed at maximizing cost savings while enhancing efficiency and productivity across manufacturing processes. As a pivotal member of our team, you'll take ownership of designing and optimizing manufacturing processes to minimize expenses and maximize output. ESSENTIAL DUTIES – other duties may be assigned |
- Leads initiatives to enhance productivity across the facility, focusing on streamlining manufacturing processes for greater efficiency.
- Designs and optimizes the layout for various manufacturing stages, including machining, processing, assembly, and material handling, to maximize productivity and efficiency in the production of company products.
- Continuously identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions to drive cost savings throughout the manufacturing process.
- Actively participate in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights and recommendations to support cost-saving initiatives.
- Participates in the review of engineering designs and drawings, suggesting modifications to enhance manufacturability as part of the concurrent engineering process.
- Creates visual work instructions, detailed production drawings, and planning documents, outlining the sequence of operations required for efficient production of company products.
- Investigates production issues, collaborates with operations teams to implement solutions, and drives continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
- Develops and implements modifications to machine tools and existing manufacturing processes to accommodate new production requirements and enhance overall process efficiency.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED |
- To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial or manufacturing technology.
- Preferred 3-5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or a related field.
- Experience in prototype manufacturing and operation of CNC machining centers, with a preference for experience in milling (Horizontal Mills preferred) and lathe machines.
- Demonstrated capability in implementing manufacturing methods and tools.
- Familiarity with ISO 9000 quality standards, lean manufacturing techniques, and computer-aided design; proficiency in SolidWorks is advantageous.
- Experience in a high mix/low volume aerospace environment is preferred.
