Yamaha Corporation of America is looking for a Vice President of Operations responsible or the general management of our US Operations based in Buena Park CA; overseeing day-to-day company operations including Customer Service and Support, Logistics, Inventory Management & Corporate Services This role will report to the CVP of Finance and Sales Support services. The role is responsible for the operational management of the company focusing on employee growth and development, building a strong cohesive and collaborative team. As a trusted leader, the expectation is to lead by example, collaborate, and promote the company's mission, values, and goals. This position is key to ensuring the business is operated in a profitable way fostering trust with employees, leadership, vendors, and customers.

Purpose of Role

Provide leadership and support to drive operational excellence across the entire Operations / Inventory Management teams.

Key Accountabilities Include

  • Drive an organizational culture that attracts, empowers, develops, retains and rewards. employees who fit and enhance the defined culture.
  • Develop and drive an Operations strategy that aligns with YCA & YCJs strategies and initiatives.
  • Drive the Operations group's execution of strategy and achievement of goals and KPIs.
  • Drive resolution of critical matters that impact Operations.
  • Drive alignment between Operations and other departments.
  • Ensure that the Operations budget aligns with YCA's priorities.
  • Define and drive a positive experience for internal and external customers and stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee Operations annual strategic plan(s).
  • Define, build and lead Operations organizational structure required to support the overarching YCA business strategy.
  • Liaise with YCJ .
  • Coordinate Operation efforts and direction to support business needs.
  • Identify and develop long-term Operations strategies supporting the organizations Mission, Vision and Objectives.
  • Collaborate with business leadership to promote alignment.
  • Establish and direct the strategic long-term goals, policies and procedures regarding Operations.

Qualifications

Ideal

  • 15+ years' related experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant senior operations management experience.
  • 5+ years of budget and P&L management.
  • People management experience in operations or related field.
  • Demonstrated success working and influencing others in a high-volume, global, matrixed organization.

Preferred

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management or related field.
  • Six sigma or lean training certification.
  • Experience with third party logistics management.
  • Experience working in some facet of after sales - either customer support or service.

Compensation

  • Up to $185,000/ per year
  • The posted compensation is the base pay. This is the hiring range and does not include bonus potential or the value of benefits. The hiring range does not reflect total earning potential over time.
  • Final offers within the posted compensation range are based on qualifications, skills and experience required for the role.
