There are two openings at the Associate Engineer level in the Operations Projects & Asset Management (OPAM) Unit: 1) Asset Planning Lead for civil infrastructure (including aqueducts, canals, tunnels, pipelines, roads, and buildings), and 2) Asset Planning Lead for mechanical infrastructure (including process equipment, instrumentation, hydroelectric plants, heating/ventilation systems, etc.).

As an asset planning lead, you will leverage your skills as a technical specialist to conduct asset management planning in alignment with Metropolitan's Strategic Asset Management Plan, ISO 55000, and the International Infrastructure Management Manual. You will also support the development of standardized processes related to condition assessment, data collection and management; develop risk management processes; and forecast infrastructure asset renewals.

In addition to the above, the Asset Planning Lead for civil infrastructure will also provide support to mitigate impacts to Water System Operations (WSO) resulting from leases, easements, licenses, and developments and encroachments.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field AND four years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Assistant Engineer II level; OR a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience which must have been at the Assistant Engineer II level.

A degree (Bachelors or Masters) in a related field is defined as: Engineering related field

Relevant Experience is defined as:design/construction management of major capital projects AND/OR engineering project management AND/OR infrastructure asset management AND/OR utility management AND/OR maintenance engineering AND/OR reliability engineering.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing and registrations:

License(s):

Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
