Job Description

Job Summary: The Instructor-SMGC is responsible for planning, teaching, implementing, and assessing courses and activities. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum one year of experience in the field of expertise required.

Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations, such as Canvas, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Remind.com. Knowledge of Public Health core competencies, basic human anatomy and physiology, common illnesses, disease management, wellness, and health lifestyle factors; basic health coaching skills; basic mental health concepts and skills; community health worker scope of work and work settings; interdisciplinary teamwork dynamics, population health, community engagement, outreach, and needs assessment. Able to manage classroom groups of various sizes, diverse backgrounds, and educational levels. Effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective, and positive manner. Read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Communicate effectively on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position


Licensures and Certifications: Valid Driver's License required at time of hire. Specialty license or certification preferred, but requirements will vary per specific specialty.
