About the Job:

The Manager, Human Resources, will have the primary responsibility to lead and execute talent management strategies and initiatives for their designated division that supports the organization's growth and development objectives. The HR Business Partner Manager will collaborate closely with business leaders and HR stakeholders to identify talent needs, drive employee engagement, and retention.


In This Role, You Will:

  • Partner with leadership to offer support in addressing daily HR concerns, which involve analyzing employee issues and implementing talent management and organizational development initiatives to align with division objective
  • Consult with management on employee and workplace issues.
  • Provide HR support and best practices to division leadership regarding change management, employee morale, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage the assigned HR staff to ensure smooth functioning and completion of departmental tasks.
  • Leverage the division's HR team's talents, experience, and strengths to assign them areas of responsibility within which they can excel.
  • Partner with the Division President to implement and uphold company policies and procedures across all Business Units within the division.
  • Using the HRIS system, produce data/reports to complete HR initiatives and at the request of leadership to help support their business unit goals, budgets and labor needs.
  • Perform job analysis, job evaluation, and maintenance of job descriptions and classification structure.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on performance management, career development, and training initiatives.
  • Oversee the disciplinary action process for the division and collaborate with managers, HR team, and legal as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. HR leaders regarding employee relations issues, investigations, legal matters, and requests for termination.
  • Partner with other HR functions in the coordination of the talent planning process, including performance appraisal management, salary administration, and succession planning.
  • Review feedback from employee exit surveys and reach out to departing employees to address any concerns. Collaborate with management to identify solutions and/or implement best practices for future improvement.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to track the advancement of division recruitment, pre-employment testing, and employee onboarding.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of programs to maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations and Company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of HR legal requirements, compliance standards and business processes. Offer guidance to management regarding these items.
  • Apply subject matter knowledge to resolve complex issues within established guidelines and executes appropriate actions.
  • Exercise independent judgment within generally defined policies to effectively manage programs and processes.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures company's compliance.
  • Ability to travel to assigned sites as needed.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Human Resources role.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in managing direct reports.
  • Professional demeanor; including strong communications and relationship skills; including experience interacting with all levels of management.
  • Knowledge of HR concepts, practices and procedures and employment law and regulation.
  • Demonstrated achievement as an HR professional and subject matter expert.
  • Ability to create, analyze, report, and manipulate data as it relates to HR metrics.
  • Ability to apply experience and judgment and work independently to plan and accomplish goals and job duties.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities effectively without sacrificing quality.
  • Proven ability as an effective team leader.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.

Desired:

  • Experience in a large, and fast-paced-growth manufacturing, logistics, and/or transportation organization is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Monday.com or other project management software is preferred.
  • Experience managing the HR function across multiple geographic locations is preferred.

Location: This is an in-office role based in Fullerton, CA.

Approximately 5% travel is anticipated.
