POSITION SUMMARY

Aniplex of America Inc. (a subsidiary of Sony Music Japan) is seeking a Merchandising Licensing Assistant to join the team located in Santa Monica, CA.The merchandising assistant will support the MD licensing division for the development and distribution of Aniplex of America Inc.'s licensed products, participate to anime related conventions, assisting with hosting of pop-up shops, and importing anime related products.This position requires strong communication skills and will interact with internal and external clients. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possess strong organizational skills, and be detail oriented. This is an entry-level role for someone who can demonstrate a strong work ethic, and a desire to grow within the industry.

This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days per week onsite in our Santa Monica office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and ensure the timely submission of quarterly reports by licensees, review of data submitted and raising questions where applicable.

  • Manage and maintain licensee data and contractual information as well as assets, including product submissions, quality assurance procedures, and sales materials - including the input of information into a royalty management system.

  • Creating PO's, invoices, and other documents as required for internal operations, and assisting with the creation and submission of various reports requested by headquarters in Japan.

  • Manage and track the flow of licensee product samples from global licensees including the receipt of boxes to our office and the preparation and distribution of samples and other materials to headquarters in Japan and other stakeholders.

  • Efficiently organize and update licensee information, providing timely support for specific licensee requests.

  • Complete submission forms as required by headquarters in Japan for and through the product approval process in Japanese.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • Japanese/English Bilingual Required.

  • Experience and knowledge in the anime industry is highly preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.

  • Availability to travel for business trips to out-of-state conventions.

  • Strong attention to details and accuracy.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

  • Strong management and communication skills.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel (experience with PivotTables and VLOOKUP a plus).

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office.

  • Illustration / photoshop skills preferred.

The target annualized base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
