Who We Need


Sabel Systems is seeking an experienced Sr. Agile Coach to implement Agile for a large Space Force engagement located at LA AFB in El Segundo, CA. This in-person, local area position, requires a TS-clearable, Sr. Agile Coach to lead PI Planning, MVP planning, Sprint Planning, Stand-Ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives and associated agile ceremonies. The ideal candidate has experience working in the DoD and familiarity with DoD culture and organization. The Sr. Agile Coach will use PI Planning tools as well as Jira and Confluence to track work and organize assets developed during the project. The Sr. Agile Coach will be coordinating activities of senior leadership level customer teams and must have excellent organizational, intrapersonal, and public speaking skills. The Sr. Agile Coach is expected to be able to create Sprint Review briefings (bi-weekly) and facilitate reviews that enable end users to see products and provide feedback. The Sr. Agile Coach will additionally be responsible for Agile training for both customers and other Sabel Systems team members as well as be available to analyze and resolve issues related to Agile processes or supporting tools.

  • Facilitate complete, full-scale enterprise-level Agile Transformation
  • Train Leadership/Stakeholders and team members on a variety of Agile roles, including: Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Team Members; potentially Release Train Engineers
  • Coach teams and Leadership on Agile practices and methodologies to support the Agile development lifecycle
  • Establish Scrum boards, dashboards, metrics, and project plans utilizing Jira and Confluence
  • Lead, train, and facilitate Program Incremental (PI) Events for a large DoD customer base
  • Develop Agile Release Trains, as necessary, to scale
  • Facilitate Agile workshops to evaluate value delivery, team structure, and continuously improve, as requested by customer
  • Establish Agile ceremonies and cadence, including stand ups, Iteration Planning, Retrospective, Backlog Refinement, etc.
  • Lead by example and drive cultural change through embodying an agile mindset, while establishing Business Rules and Best Practices
  • Conduct Agile Familiarization training to stakeholders and Sabel staff as required
  • Lead MVP/Sprint Planning
  • Lead daily stand-up
  • Lead Sprint Reviews (bi-weekly)
  • Curate Jira and Confluence to ensure client leadership has visibility of backlog and product roadmap
  • Lead or participate in Scrum of Scrums as needed
  • Support ad-hoc business analyst and meeting coordination as required



Your Qualifications

Required

  • 5-10 or more years of experience as an Agile Coach or Trainer
  • Current Agile Certification (SAFe Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer (RTE), etc)
  • Deep experience in implementing Jira and Confluence to support an Agile construct
  • Experience leading an enterprise-level Agile Transformation
  • Experiencing training Agile roles, including Product Owner, Scrum Master, & Team Members
  • Experience planning or participating PI Planning Events & using PI Planning Tools
  • Clearable up to Top Secret
  • Team leadership including conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • 4 Year degree (desired, not required)
  • Travel up to 10%
