Overview

AmTrust Financial Services, a fast-growing commercial insurance company, is currently seeking an experienced and driven Workers' Compensation Claims Director in our Irvine, CA office. In this role, the WC Claims Director will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of Claims responsibilities and working with the Claims Managers to manage and ensure the Workers' Compensation claims activities are being handled within the AmTrust Best Practices.

The WC Claims Director is an integral part of the leadership team and is responsible for developing and maintaining professional customer and broker relations by identifying and meeting customer needs.

Responsibilities
    Oversee all aspects of claims process, ensuring timely and accurate adjudication, driving improvements in efficiency and effectiveness which align with AmTrust's goals and objectives.
  • Lead, manage and develop a high-performing claims team, including recruitment, retention, training and career development.
  • Regularly uses data analytics to monitor team(s) performance, and develops strategies to drive operational effectiveness, and improve the overall performance of the organization.
  • Oversees compliance with state/local regulatory requirements by following company guidelines, and remains current on California Workers' Compensation laws, regulations or trends for line of business.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative business partnerships with internal and external resources while recognizing connections and inter-dependencies and maximizing relationships to effectively manage the operation. Supports AmTrust sales and marketing goals by participating with underwriting in sales activities including new business development.
  • Works with the managerial team to evaluate the performance of the claims staff at regular intervals.
  • Ensures that all AmTrust policies, procedures and controls are followed.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS Degree
  • SIP certificate required.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive management experience with a minimum of 7 years' experience in the handling or litigating of California Workers Compensation Claims
  • Proficient computer skills required to navigate our paperless claim file system.
  • Possesses a high level of technical claim and legal knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to professionally interact at a high level with parties both internal and external to AmTrust.
  • Easily adapts to changing situations requirements or priorities.
  • Ability to effectively influence others without damaging relationships.
  • Experience with computerized claims management and office systems.

The salary range for this role is $125,000 - $150,000/year. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future.
