Cuningham seeks a Project Designer within our Healthcare team to share in our vision to dream big, be daring, and create change. As a Healthcare Project Designer, you will lead the design process through all project phases, including the development of deliverables and the documentation of design solutions required by both the project's design and the local governing code. This team member is able to lead small to medium-scale project scopes and manage small teams with various experience levels.
What you will do
  • Lead the development of compelling healthcare design solutions, coordination, and production efforts on a wide range of projects, through all phases of the design, in an iterative and collaborative design process.
  • Lead and oversee strong design concept and design presentations throughout the project.
  • Lead collaboration between the disciplines, engaging all those on the team for input.
  • Lead collaboration and manage expectations with client team providing clear feedback bi-directionally between the broader internal team and client groups.
  • Be accountable for the consistency of design from presentation to final documentation.
  • Motivate the project team to provide their best by supporting team member development and growth through thoughtful task assignment.
  • Encourage and apply regenerative approaches to design and performance of the built, social, and natural environments.
  • Manage collaboration with related disciplines (consultants and contractors) for best design outcomes.
  • Participate in the project pursuit process by providing, preparing, and reviewing content for proposals/interviews and participating in interviews.
What we look for
  • Experienced healthcare designer with a strong portfolio and a history of leading clients and teams to holistic and beautiful design solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, seeks to learn from others and is able to share context and gain consensus.
  • Bachelor/Master's Degree in Design/Architecture. Licensure in at least one state preferred.
  • 10-15 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Experience with multiple levels of healthcare from clinic to hospital settings a plus.
  • Proficient with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, Revit/BIM 360, required. Familiarity with Rhino, Enscape, Lumion, preferred.
