We are seeking a Infotainment System Development/Validation Engineer to be responsible for the continued development of Hyundai/Kia/Genesis Infotainment System services for the North American vehicle platforms. Activities will span phases of development including spec requirements review, validation, and maintenance. The position will be located in Irvine, CA.

  • Responsible for assisting with the development of a North American Infotainment System by leading the system validation efforts. This will include reviewing Specification, creating validation procedures based on spec review, conducting bench and vehicle field validation, and tracking development progress.
  • Conduct studies/clinics, evaluate competitive systems, revise/create specifications, and troubleshoot the vehicle sub-system interactions.
  • Participate in and/or conduct design reviews that include requirements development, system/component specifications review, verification, and validation.
  • Support the development and validation of Radio, Media, Audio system, Bluetooth, Navigation, and User Profile.
  • Support port interface audits, quality gate audits, field issues support and meeting with business team.
  • Experience with automotive product development process (concept to launch).
  • Knowledge of GSM, CDMA, UMTS, WCDMA, LTE, and 3G/4G technologies to support server validation as part of the overall End-to-End development process.
  • Remain current with new technology and competitive products as a means to drive new innovative features and functions.
  • Remain current with regulatory requirements (local, State, Federal) for Infotainment System and other infotainment applications
  • Experience with end-to-end vehicle Infotainment System architectures, mobile, and wireless computing architectures
  • Knowledge of feature set vs. cost when evaluating integration and partitioning studies for future systems.
  • Experience with developing, completing, and evaluating FMEA and DV/PV plans.
  • Work with the supply base to answer questions pertaining to requirements, specifications, performance data, and defect analysis.
  • Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally (less than 20%).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
  • 2 years of experience designing and developing automotive electrical components and systems with a focus on Media and infotainment system.
  • 2 years of experience in developing specifications and design verification test plans pertaining to multimedia and infotainment with an emphasis on Infotainment System.
  • 1-year experience in Infotainment System hardware and software design and/or its validation.
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
