The Restaurant General Manager is a leadership role at King's Hawaiian Bakery and Restaurant and reports directly to the Director of Food Service Operations. This role participates in the development and execution of the King's Hawaiian Bakery and Restaurant strategic plan, growth initiatives, and daily operations.

Responsible for the overall management and coordination of restaurant operations with an emphasis on providing an Aloha experience through excellent guest services and irresistible quality baked goods and Hawaiian foods.

This position is responsible for managing best practices that drive the organizational efficiencies and effectiveness in all food and service standards.

The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for actively living the Aloha Culture, company Core Values, and Aloha Behaviors of King's Hawaiian. Managing the operation with execution, validation, and oversight of systems and processes that maintain a consistent quality of Aloha service and product excellence.

The following positions are direct reports report directly to the Restaurant General Manager: Restaurant Kitchen Manager, with a strong indirect responsibility to the Assistant Kitchen Manager. Restaurant Managers, Supervisors, and hourly direct reports.


Job Requirements:

  • Strong ability to lead and develop a team through coaching, training, and mentorship.

  • Provides ongoing feedback and conducts performance evaluations

  • Works with maintenance to ensure equipment preventative maintenance and emergency maintenance are performed to specified guidelines.

  • Responsible for steps of service standards and service with Aloha.

  • Manages the schedule through Kronos.

  • Responsible for all recruiting needs to maintain proper staffing levels.

  • Responsible to meet all financial goals set by the Director.

  • Acts upon guest feedback to make sustained corrections or adjustments to service.

  • Creates and follows up regularly on employee goals that align and drive operating plan.

  • Ensures proper staffing levels are maintained and uses appropriate data for accurate scheduling.

  • Reviews equipment that will improve quality, safety, and or efficiency.

  • Following the ordering process for accuracy and minimizing waste

  • Develops and maintains systems and processes to measure service levels so consistent service standards that meet industry and internal best practices are met.

  • Ensures all cash handling and security procedures are met

  • Reviews and improves upon current operating procedures that create better efficiencies and effectiveness and improves security and safety.

  • Provides a safe work/food environment for our employees and guests.

  • Conducts monthly safety training and sign-off.

  • Best food handling standards and employee safety practices are being followed and maintained.

  • Financial literacy and budget ownership, encompassing experience with P&L, COGS, & labor management.

  • Maintains all food and safety government agencies and third-party inspection scores of 90% or higher.

  • The responsibilities associated with this job will change from time to time in accordance with the Company's business needs. More specifically, the incumbent may be required to perform additional and/or different responsibilities from those set forth above.

Skills/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2-5 years of Restaurant Management experience within a similar environment (Full-Service Restaurant/FSR)

  • Proficient in English with clear verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly curious, collaborative, and critical thinker.

  • Phenomenal Customer Service

  • Experience with service and labor controls, food quality, and safe food handling.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to model, coach, and enforce values, human and food safety, and sanitation.

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Able to balance multiple tasks and work well in an environment with time constraints.

  • Proficient with technology including MS Office, and POS systems a plus.

Compensation Range: $66,200 - $99,300
