The Division of Film and Television Production within the USC School of Cinematic Arts is seeking a professionalFilm and TelevisionMusic Editor/Sound Editor with ahigh degree of experiencewithin the industry to fill a full-time tenured teaching position inSound. This appointment carries with it the KenWannberg Endowed Chair in Music Editing.

Duties includeteaching multiple Soundcourses involving all aspects of Production and Post Production Sound at the undergraduate and graduate level;significant service to the Sound Track, the Production Division and the School of Cinematic Arts is an important aspect of the full-time position. Experience teaching at the university or conservatory level would be a plus. The candidate is expected to maintain a significant ongoing professional/creative/research practice.

The Division of Film and Television Production offers programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts and the Master of Fine Arts degrees. The primary goals of the degree programs in film and television production are to develop the student's ability to express originalideas in filmed mediaand to instill a thorough understanding of the technical and aesthetic aspects of motion pictures and television. Courses in production provide individual and group filmmaking experiences and the opportunity to learn all aspects of filmmaking in a collaborative environment.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Experience:

  • Ten years professional experience in the film and television industry

  • Demonstrated teaching experience, ideally at the college level, but inclusive ofprofessional and community seminars, workshops, and mentorships.

Preferred Education: Master's Degree

Preferred Experience:

  • Significant teaching experience

  • Significant national and international Sound credits and awards in film and television at studio and/or independent production levels

The annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000.
