Summary
The Swiss CNC programmer creates CNC programs, sets up instructions, and updates existing programs/set-up instructions. Will support setup procedures used to produce product on available machines and controllers, and maintain a library of CNC programs to the latest revision. Also responsible for the part evaluation and program development accounting for optimal machine and personal usage while maintaining engineering tolerance specifications. May also perform as the working leader of the group and be able to work closely with Machinist, Planning, Engineering, Management, and other team members.
Primary Responsibilities
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
* Planning all operations with proper cutting tool selections.
* Ability to program lathe and Swiss machines
* Knowledge of Multi-Axis equipment.
* Create detailed set-up sheets with a tool list.
* Tests, modifies and enhances procedures for continuous improvements.
* Maintains and preserves CAD/CAM libraries.
* Maintains and utilizes CAD/CAM software.
* Modify existing programs for engineering change, improvement, and other machines.
* Analyze blueprints, models, or sample parts to determine the sequence of operations and set up requirements.
* Supports prove out process with Machinist and inspection to meet conformance.
* Able to Design Fixtures if needed.
* Willing to share knowledge and techniques with Machinist and others.
* Confers with engineers, production personnel, management, or others to resolve machining
problems.
* Continuous help to improve new and existing processes.
* Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
* Understand and live by Mason's ethics and business conduct policies.
* Able to complete tasks on time.
* Able to work overtime as needed to meet customer demands.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
* High School or GED
* 5+ years minimum of programming Swiss and lathe machines.
* 3+ years experience programming with Esprit.
* Experience with Mastercam a plus.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
* Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
* Use of SolidWorks and Cimco editor is a plus.
* Mill programming experience a plus.
* Knowledge of CNC G-codes and M-codes.
* Knowledge of Renishaw probing use a plus.
* Good Machining practice and knowledge of speeds and feeds.
Pay Compensation Range for this Full-Time position: $39.00- $49.00
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
